Mrs. Glidden ran a private school here from 1887 to 1892. The Education Act of 1875 made schooling compulsory and many children attended private schools, established usually by women, rather than the Glenelg Public School.
1884 - Mrs Glidden's Private School
Built in the 1880s for builder J. S. Mullen, this residence has a lovely garden at the front with white rose bushes. On a still day, you can smell the roses from the footpath.
